This Cookie Policy explains the types of cookies and tracking tools used by the website magnetmilano.it, operated by Magnet Communication S.R.L., and how to manage your preferences. It is an integral and essential part of the website’s Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send to your browser, where they are stored and then sent back to the same websites on your next visit. They are used for different purposes, such as authentication, session monitoring, storing preferences and collecting statistics. Browsing a website may also store other identifiers on the user’s device (for example web beacons, clear GIFs, the browser’s localStorage), which work in a similar way to cookies.
The applicable Italian rules (decision of the Italian Data Protection Authority of June 10, 2021, “Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools”) distinguish between technical cookies, whose use does not require the user’s consent, and third-party analytics and profiling cookies, for which consent is mandatory.
Which cookies we use
The website magnetmilano.it uses:
- technical cookies strictly necessary for the website to work, which do not require your consent;
- Google Analytics statistical cookies, set only if you click “Accept” in the banner shown on your first visit.
We do not use profiling or marketing cookies, advertising pixels that set cookies (for example the Facebook Pixel) or social widgets that set third-party cookies. Google’s advertising permissions (storage of advertising cookies, use of data for advertising and ad personalization) remain always denied, even if you accept statistical cookies.
Technical cookies (no consent required)
- WordPress session cookies (
wordpress_*,wp-settings-*) — used only when Magnet staff log in to the restricted administration area. They do not affect visitors to the public website - Security cookies — used to protect the contact form from automated abuse attempts (spam bots, CSRF attacks). They are essential for the form to work
- Cookie preference (
magnet_cookie_consent_v2, saved in the browser’s localStorage) — remembers whether you accepted or rejected statistical cookies, so the banner does not reappear on every page. It stays only on your device and is not sent to external servers
The website may also store interface display preferences in localStorage (for example light or dark mode). This data also stays only on your device.
Google Analytics statistical cookies (only with consent)
If you accept, the website uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), to collect aggregated statistics on how the website is used: pages visited, length of the visit, device and browser type, approximate geographic area and source of the visit (for example a search engine or a campaign). We use this data only to improve the website and assess the effectiveness of our communication.
_ga— distinguishes visitors pseudonymously. Duration: 2 years_ga_*— keeps the state of the browsing session. Duration: 2 years
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store visitors’ full IP addresses. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy and the page on how Google uses information from partner sites.
Google Consent Mode
The website uses Google Consent Mode (Consent Mode v2). Until you give your consent, or if you refuse it, Google tags (Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement) load with all permissions denied and do not set cookies on your device. In this state Google may still receive cookieless technical signals (for example date and time, browser type, page visited), which it uses in aggregated form to estimate statistics and conversions without identifying you.
How to give, refuse or withdraw consent
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept statistical cookies. The “Accept” and “Reject” buttons are equally prominent and, until you choose, no statistical cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page of the website.
You can also disable or delete cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling technical cookies may prevent some areas of the website from working properly, including the contact form. Below are links to the official instructions for the main browsers:
Google also provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
Cookie duration
Technical cookies are partly session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) and partly persistent (kept for a maximum of 12 months). Google Analytics cookies last a maximum of 2 years. Your cookie choice, saved in localStorage, remains until you change it from the “Cookie preferences” link or clear the website’s data from your browser.
Third parties and data transfers
The only third party involved is Google, for Google Analytics and the Google tags described above. Google may also process data in the United States: Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, recognized as adequate by the European Commission in its decision of July 10, 2023. For details on how your personal data is processed, see the Privacy Policy.
