Graphic design agency in Milan Graphic Design

Magnet Communication is a graphic design agency in Milan that turns a brand’s identity into real materials: licensed products, packaging, ad campaigns, merchandising, event materials and digital content. It’s the service found in almost all our projects, because it’s where strategy and identity become something people can see and touch.

25 projects, including FERRERO · VESPA · SAN SIRO STADIUM · LUPIN III · CALCIATORI PANINI · HOLLY & BENJI

Creative direction and art direction

  • Creative direction. The visual idea behind a campaign, a collection or a launch, and the direction of every piece that comes out of it, so design, photography and video tell the same story.
  • Art direction. Visual direction for shoots and campaigns, so images and design speak the same language. We shoot photo and video in-house through our production service.

Graphic design services

  • Artwork for licensed products and merchandise. We design the artwork following the licensor’s guidelines and production needs: it is the core of our licensing work, for brands such as Ferrero, Chiquita, Vespa and Lupin III.
  • Merchandise design. Apparel, accessories, gadgets and branded objects for companies, events and fans, designed on the real product and on the limits of the printing or decoration technique.
  • Packaging and labels. Packs and labels consistent with the brand identity, ready for production: front and back, product families and variants, laid out on the manufacturer’s dielines.

Editorial, presentations and company materials

  • Catalogues, brochures and presentations. Editorial materials and company presentations laid out according to the brand identity.
  • Editorial design. Magazines, books, reports and company publications: grid, text hierarchy and images designed to be read, in print or on screen.
  • Presentation design. Decks for sales, investors and events, with a template your team can reuse without breaking the identity.
  • Corporate and sales materials. Company profiles, product sheets, folders and kits for buyers and agents, so the company is presented the same way at every meeting.
  • Illustrations and infographics. Drawings and charts that explain a product, a figure or a process.

Campaigns, retail and events

  • Advertising campaigns. The design for print, outdoor and digital: the key visual and all its adaptations. Media planning is part of our advertising and media service.
  • Events, trade fairs and retail. Materials for an event, a trade fair or a launch with a fixed deadline: stands, panels, signage, badges and stage graphics, like the communication materials for Best Live‘s live events.
  • POS, POP and retail graphics. Displays, window graphics, shelf signs, totems and in-store materials, designed to be read from a distance and produced by the supplier you choose.
  • Print design. Posters, flyers, invitations and anything that goes to press, with paper and finishing choices agreed with the printer.

Digital graphics and motion graphics

  • Social media and websites. Graphic content consistent with the rest of the identity, alongside our web and digital work: feed and story formats, banners, images and icons for the website. Channel management is part of social and content.
  • Motion graphics. Animated graphics for social media, presentations, trade fair screens and video, built from the same elements as the identity.

Retouching, final artwork and adaptations

  • Photo retouching. Retouching and preparation of images for print, packaging and digital.
  • Prepress. File checks before printing: colour profiles, resolution, bleed, dielines and overprints, and the conversation with the printer about colour proofs.
  • Final files. Files ready for print, production or online publication, in the formats required by printers, manufacturers and platforms.
  • Multi-format adaptation. An approved design adapted to every format, size and language you need, with copy and specifications checked version by version.

Graphic design projects

We have designed the graphics for projects in characters and animation (Lupin III, Holly & Benji, Go Nagai, Calimero and Coccole Sonore), sports (Calciatori Panini, Sergio Tacchini, Mascalzone Latino and San Siro Stadium), lifestyle (Vespa and Route 66), consumer products (Ferrero, Chiquita, Pastiglie Leone and Dal Negro) and events (Best Live, Carnevale di Viareggio and La Prova del Cuoco, the Rai 1 cooking show).

For FICR and Giovanni Allevi the design work carried the new identity onto their communication materials; for HC9, Boston and Locanda Italia it is part of a project that runs from strategy to campaigns.

How we work

  1. Brief. We start from the brand identity and the final medium: a product, a package, an ad or a post each call for different choices.
  2. Design. We develop the design proposals and review them together, with the revision rounds set out in the quote.
  3. Final artwork. We prepare files ready for print, production or online publishing.
  4. Adaptations. When needed, we adapt the approved design to every format and language and follow it through to the print proof.

What you get

  • Artwork for the medium you need: licensed products and merchandise, packaging and labels, campaigns, materials for events, trade fairs and stores, content for social media and websites.
  • Revisions: the revision rounds are set out in the quote, based on the project.
  • Final files in the formats required by printers, manufacturers or online platforms.
  • The source files agreed with you.
  • The key visual and campaign rules, when the project includes creative direction.
  • Adaptations in every format and language required.
  • Mock-ups to present and approve products before production.

When you need it

  • You already have an identity and need new materials that respect it.
  • You need to produce a line of licensed products following the licensor’s guidelines.
  • You have an event, a trade fair or a launch with a fixed deadline.
  • You need to present the company or a product to customers and buyers with well-made materials.
  • You have an approved campaign to adapt to many formats and languages.

Who it is for: companies and licensees with an established brand, or that have just completed their brand identity.

Graphic design FAQ

What’s the difference between graphic design and brand identity?

Brand identity sets the brand’s rules: logo, colors, typefaces and tone. Graphic design uses those rules to create specific materials, such as a package, a campaign or a product line.

Do you design graphics for licensed products?

Yes, it’s an important part of our work. We design graphics for products that use licensed brands and characters, following the licensor’s guidelines and the licensee’s production needs.

Do you provide print-ready files?

Yes. At the end of the project we deliver final artwork in the formats required by printers, manufacturers or online platforms, together with the agreed source files.

Can you work with an existing identity?

Of course. Many of our projects start from established brands: in that case the design work follows their guidelines and applies them to new products and materials.

How much does a graphic design project cost?

It depends on how many materials you need, in how many formats and languages, and whether we start from an existing identity or from scratch. That’s why we don’t have a price list: after a first conversation we prepare a proposal for the project.

How do you start a design project with Magnet?

Write to us through the contact form or at info@magnetmilano.it with what you need, by when and where it will be used. If brand guidelines already exist, send them along with your request.

Do you also handle photo and video?

Yes. Photo shoots and video are made in-house by our production service, while motion graphics is part of graphic design. Art direction holds the two together, so images, video and design follow the same idea and the same brand rules.

Can you adapt a design to many formats and languages?

Yes, it is a frequent part of the work. Starting from an approved visual we prepare the versions for every format you need, from print to social media, from displays to banners, and for each language. Before delivery we check the copy, sizes and print specifications of every version.
